stock 5.1 does NOT have 6.15 in it, thats the ipad baseband. You will need tiny umbrella on the computer to check shsh or open cydia on the phone and it will list shsh up top like "SHSH: 4.1, 4.2.1, 5.0.1, 5.1"

P.S. if you used a stock 5.1, you need to reflash the ipad baseband

I bought this Iphone brand new from ebay and to my knowledge he didnt do anything to this phone. There is a way to bypass the activation screen for 30 senconds (which I did). The Phone came stock with 5.1 (06.15.00) and the 3,4,5 digit of the serial is 135. Is it safe to reflash the baseband on this Iphone? Doesnt that break the celular radio?

if its on 6.15 its not gonna break it putting 6.15 on again.......

I checked the SHSH on cydia and it says: ios 4.1. So what does that mean I should do exactly? Restore to 4.1? Then flash baseband?

pretty much, restore to 4.1, then use latest redsn0w to jailbreak + reflash BB

On another blog I found this thread. This is in response for someone that had a 3GS 5.1 and wanted to downgrade to 4.1

My Iphone is a 3GS 5.1 (06.15.00) with new boot rom and serial number 135. According to this thread below. Its not a good idea to reflash its baseband. What are your thoughts?

I found this method below for unlock downgrade iphone 3gs 5.1 to 4.1. Has anyone tried this with an Iphone 3GS 5.1 (06.15.00) new bootrom and serial number 135? Please post if you were succesful. Im in fear to try it because I dont want to break the celular radio. Thanks alot!

open the program, and select join, you need the two files in the same folder, and select the part 1 file and in the same folder appear the new file join

How to downgrade 5.1 to 4.1 iPhone 3GS :

Step 1: Run Ireb4 , your iPhone 3GS will enter dfu mode. Step 2: Go to iTunes and flash with 4.1 custom firmware ipsw. Step 3: Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS with Redsn0w (you need the original firmware 4.1 to do the jailbreak with this redsn0w), patch the iphone with the ipad baseband 6.15. Step 4: Unlock your iPhone 3GS with ultrasn0w

if you don´t get signal, patch again the baseband 6.15

that is all, i do it and works 100% :D:D:D
