Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Question

I checked and replaced the 'animation' file in usr/bin a couple times now, and the animation is just not there. The apple logo is the only appearing logo during respring and boot. The greenpois0n logo was there for a few boots, but then just vanished. Anybody have any clue? I liked that animation. :(

Yes, and I would love to know how to get it back without re-jailbreaking. Iv'e been on preserved 1.59.00 baseband since 4.0 and I am not going to attempt to almost fuck that up by restoring.

The only way I could think to do it is to rejailbreak & manually extract the file, and back it up for the next time it goes away, but that is kind've a pain in the ass, no?

I have. Through ssh in winscp. No difference if I remove it, then place back. Or if I replace it with the same thing from another download source.

Is it honestly worth the effort? (I'm probably just saying that cause I couldn't jailbreak personally with GP)

It's actually the whole reason I jailbroke again. I would have stayed on 4.1 but I wanted those sexy animated boots.

Tried to jailbreak 4.1 with Limera1n personally, no luck, and greenpois0n doesn't support it anymore... I'm stucking using 4.0 until Rubyra1n comes. I would go back to 3.1.3 but I don't have the SHSHs. Best of luck to you my friend.
