I started with redsnow, but that didn't work so I backed it up and restored it. I still had cydia on my iphone when I tried again with greenposion. It says 'failed to get apple...etc' and keeps going every minute or so. I want to just stop it and restore it again so I can actually get it right for my iphone. What can I do to stop this process and clear it out again???
Hold home+power until you see the apple logo, then:
You can't. If it's gotten to the point where everything happens from the device, it's too late.
With that being said, there shouldn't be an issue with restoring again.
ALSO: Your issue with greenpoison is that your firmware is too new. P0ison is only good for 4.2.1. You started right by using Sn0w. Be sure to use 0.9.10b3, and run in Admin mode if you're on Win7.
Also, you claim that you still had Cydia on your iphone when you tried again? That wasn't necessary. Your information seems to be somewhat conflicting.
Can you tell me...
1) What device are you attempting to jailbreak (Be SPECIFIC) 2) EXACTLY what firmware you're running 3) EXACTLY which tool you're using, and what version, and 4) Is Cydia Present?
I may be of assistance then.
