I know there are a lot of places where there is an explanation of how to enter DFU mode, but believe me I had read all these and I still can't find an answer. I have an iPod Touch 4G with 4.3.5 software and I jailbreak it using Redsnow 0.9.8b3. At first, all worked right and I could install Cydia and have no problems for a few months, but now I do. My iPod ran out of battery so I connected it to my Mac an try to boot tethered like I always did, but when I tried to enter DFU mode, nothing happened. The only thing that appears on the screen is the apple symbol and when I press the power and home button the screen goes blank but don't enter DFU mode after pressing he home button for 15 seconds more. I tried to reset the iPod but iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod. I had enter DFU mode many times before so it is not a matter of timing or because I do not how to do it. I hope someone could help me because I don¡t know what to do! thanks |

I charged my device and tried again and nothing happened. I have my iPod fully charged now (I left it charging for 4 hours) and I can see my device stuck at the Apple logo. Then tried to enter DFU mode and nothing happened. The device only turned off after holding the power and home buttons and then I continued holding the home button but Redsnow doesn't recognize my device in the DFU mode. |

If iTunes doesn't see it, forget about DFU, no jailbreak tool will see it because iTunes supplies the drivers. Get iTunes to see it and then worry about DFU. I would start by (re)installing the latest iTunes. |

go into devices and printers and go into properties, then click on hardware and then the properties there, then click change settings and click driver and uninstall(all while in dfu mode) then unplug and reinsert it will install the driver and it instantly recognises dfu |
