iPhone2,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw, is it not right ?

(04 Dec '11, 06:16) bwilliam0 bwilliam0's gravatar image

That ipsw is for an iPhone 3Gs. Is your device a 3Gs?

(04 Dec '11, 07:17) justinred ♦ justinred's gravatar image

yes,is 3GS

You must manually point to IPSW 5.0 - most probably you are using the wrong one.

Check this tutorial by @justinred for a very detailed step by step guide.

As the other comments are also pointing out, I too think you are using the wrong IPSW (wrong version and/or wrong device). Please check again.
Oh, by the way: you must point redsn0w to the stock ipsw, not to the custom one.

well, my device is 3GS
IPSW name is "iPhone2,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw" also i am very sure that i click stock ipsw not custom, umm.....what's the problem.....= =?

What firmware version is your 3Gs running? Are you on 5.1 beta?

(04 Dec '11, 21:37) justinred ♦ justinred's gravatar image

YES,its 5.0.1

(05 Dec '11, 19:39) bwilliam0 bwilliam0's gravatar image

You need to open redsn0w, click "extras", and click "select ipsw". Point is at your 5.0 (9A334) ipsw, and continue the process.

but after that it shows "IPSW not suppoted by this version of redsn0w ?” .......WTH

(04 Dec '11, 06:18) bwilliam0 bwilliam0's gravatar image

You're probably pointing towards a custom firmware.

Get an official IPSW from Apple server, a list of links to all public IPSW firmware files can be found here http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Firmware
