Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3 are not jailbreakable. There is no way to downgrade from iOS 8.2 or 8.1.3 to earlier versions.
Instructions for jailbreaking iOS 8.0-8.1.2. See /r/jailbreak on Reddit, @PanguTeam, and @TaiG_jailbreak for updates.

Is it possible to run an app, for example find my friends (requires 5.0), on a jailbroken ipad 2 (4.3.3)?

I disagree. Although the specific app he asked about probably won't work because it uses new APIs, many apps might work just fine.

Of course you can't. You know why? Because it requires a higher FW. I'm not really sure but... higher firmwares may have something that older firmwares don't have. And so, that's my explanation. Hope that helped.

You could try editing the system version id string in the appropriate plist file, so iOS will lie to the app about what version it is.

If that doesn't give you enough information to figure it out, it's dangerous to give you more. Not the kind of thing that should be done without knowing what you are doing :)

I only recommend doing this if you are on 3.1.3 and want to run 3.2 apps. Worked on my 1st gen ;)

you can go in the info.plist file in the app and change require ios off or something like that, just go through the infoplist and find the string that looks like it's checking for your fw version
