How to fix some mysterious problems.

Downloaded GP...Check. My timing, unless I need timing akin to an atomic clock...check. Changed USB port when it didnt work the first time...check. Followed the instructions to the tea. My POS netbook keeps recognizing the phone right when it goes into DFU mode. I think that is screwing it up. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you running gp as administrator? and did you set your antivirus to recognize gp, not interfering?

I have AVG. I turned off the firewall. I cannot alter the settings for virus protection. When I start GP, I turn off my idevice, then plug it up and click the 'prepare to jailbreak' button. I follow the instructions to the tea. Always getting the 'try again' ugh. And I am running as admin.

Okay so when you hit try again what happens? does jailbreak appear by any chance? Because that happened to me, it said Try Again..I clicked it and clicked jailbreak and it jailbroke fine. So when it says try again your device is already in DFU, if you click try again and it says jailbreak do so, if it doesn't then you have to turn of your antivirus and run it again. Oh and restore before trying to rejailbreak.

Its better plug in your iphone, then turn it off, after that click the 'prepare to jailbreak' button and enter the DFU mode.
