How to fix some mysterious problems.

Hey guys,

I've tried on multiple occasions now to try and unlock my iPhone.

I'm on MacOSx 10.6.6; gp mac rc5 b3; stock iOS 4.2.1 no unlock needed or wanted.. not sure what my baseband is?

I have restored to a plain 4.2.1 without restoring my settings from backup and this doesn't seem to have helped either..

pastebin of output from GP:

It says completed at the end but I'm left with the USB to Itunes graphic on my phone.. restarting it doesn't seem to show anything different.. no iloader or cydia.. am i missing something?

Try downloading TinyUmbrella, connect your iPhone, load TinyUmbrella, select your phone, and choose "Kick out of Recovery".

It doesn't seem to want to come out of recovery mode.. I've tried TinyUmbrella and RecBoot but no success... neither program is successful bringing it out of this mode; It's still sitting there with the connect to itunes graphic....

any other ideas?

You need to follow these instructions exactly:

(Regardless of whether you care about your baseband - that is how to rid of the recovery mode)
