I'm jailbreaking a 3gs (fw 4.2.1) Is there a possibility to put in into DFU mode without the power button? (broken)

We have investigate this today, its not possible to get into DFU mode, there is however a mode call DFU Loop which can be acheived by soft methods, i don't know if this will work but you can try on your own risk, steps are explained at the end of the following page:

Ok, this is clear and doable. I execute this and a DFU loop is initiated, which I use to JB the device with Graanpois0n. But after, how do I get out of the DFU-mode loop?

Trouble is, the DFU loop method doesn't put the iPhone in DFU. It errors out and puts it into recovery mode. So, no luck there. Next step, replacing the power button.
