Jailbreak has no affect on your battery life. One way to easily increase you battery life is to train it. ( let is die. And charge it to full battery with out using it or turning on.) you have to repeat the proccess a few times but that will help. And also turn it off at lest once a week for a hole minute. Like apple suggest.

that doesn't work now - I've read it only worked on old batteries, not on the newer Lithium Ion batteries and that with Lithium Ion batteries it's actually bad to let them flatline and you should keep a charge in them as often as possible. Flatlining the battery was for older Nickel Cadmium batteries.

You only need to charge and drain once with a Li-Ion battery on the very first charge - after that, they are specifically designed to be under charge as often as possible as it maintains the chemical balances. you are thinking of the old school of thought that applied to batteries with "charge memory"...Ni-Cad and Ni-MH. Li-Ion batteries do not have a "charge memory" and as such this won't work on them - only the intital charges matter.
