Yes this is the same issues I am having with my iPhone 3G. I jailbroke my iPhone 4 and 3GS today with no problem. I am seeing a few people reporting it also only having the issue with iPhone 3G. I am sure once they noice this as an issue the DEV will fix it kindly

The iPhone 3G is not a device supported by greenpoison. Read the readme.

where does the count start? I mean, do I have to start doing the process during the black screen or during the itunes and the cable logo?

This is driving me nuts as well. I have tried everything, reinstalling itunes, downloading greenpois0n over again and again around 10 times. As well as restoring my ipod, trying everything I can do here from home. I am on a 2nd gen Mc model which I heard was having problems. Every where I go I just hear people saying the servers are over loaded, try it over or wait until the morning. I follow the steps and I keep on getting the try again, which means it failed. So there is not much to say I guess wait until there is agood solution. Well good luck everyone, including myself we will eventually get there! :)
