Hello World! ;)I jailbroke my iPod touch 3G 32GB three times in the last 2 days with jailbreakme.com and had everytime problems. The last was heavy. I had a boot loop, but of course not because of BiteSMS! I think it was because of Winterboard or something else... Additionally I had the problem that the little loading circel (like the one in the status bar at if you have internet activity) was the hole time in the mid of my screen and flickerd. Only way I solved this problem was by restarting my device. So my Question now is, if I would jailbreak my iPod again, but this time with redsn0w, will the problems come again? (The boot loop, the loading circle...) And moreover: Would you recommend an different jailbreak tool? Which one is the best? |
The only way is to try it with Redsn0w 0.9.6rc18, but Redsn0w has been available for quite some time now and I don't recall answering any questions with those issues, but you have to be aware of what you are installing via Cydia, make sure packages are for 4.3.3 or iOS4 at least, I've no doubt there are packages in Cydia that will send you into a bootloop regardless of jailbreak tool used. Ok. Thanks! I think I will inform me which tools are the best.. But would you recommend an other jailbreak tool? I would just recommend using Redsn0w on 4.3.3, especially if you had issues that you suspect were down to jailbreakme. Ok. I will make a backup now and download redsn0w.. hope i wont have the problems again. Is the 'redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc18.zip' data the right? Yep, if you're on windows then thats the one, before I forget, if you're on Win 7/vista then you need to run Redsn0w as admin and in XP compatibility mode. You also need to browse to a copy of the 4.3.3 firmware for your idevice at the start of the process, if you've been restoring then you will have that in your 'ipod software updates' folder, check the FAQ here for the location for your OS. |
Ok. For everyone who reads this after my problem! I jailbroke with redsn0w now and everything works fine for now. No boot loop appeared. And the little boot circle never appeared again too.. i guess it was because I installed a Cydia App which wasn't real compatible with iOS 4.3.3. So. Just installed the right software for the right hardware... |
