I'm sorry if this problem was mentioned before, but I feel that earlier posts had too little info on the subject, so I'll try to give as much as possible. My setup is Win7 x64, iPhone4 4.2.1 custom ipsw made with pwnage to preserve bb, jailbroken with redsnow tethered. I enter DFU, gp loads fine, does the jailbreak and at some point my iPhone says "unable to mount user filesystem!", then it says "ApplBCMWLAN:handleIOKitBusyWatchdogTimeout(): Error, no successful firmware download after 60000 ms!! Giving up..." and stays like that for about 5mins. After that a lot of code is shown very fast, iphone reboots with the original apple logo and gets stuck there (just like the tethered boot) and never boots into iOS (tried waiting 30+ minutes). Have tried on the 32bit winxp machine - same result. Already tried 20+ times and it's always the same. I've seen a couple of posts with same problem, without a fix. Could it be that some of my apps/tweaks from cydia are preventing GP from a successful JB? Btw I don't have a recovery guard. Clean restore is not an option for me (don't ask why) EDIT: read my last post for fixing this. The problem is not the error in the title. That thing is normal. The problem was being stuck on Apple logo during boot. |
I had the same issue with an un-jailbroken iPhone 3GS using Win7 X64 Ultimate as well. I got it to work by holding the home button after clicking "Jailbreak" on the GreenPoison app an allowing it to start showing the terminal/script across the iphone's screen, after a few seconds it loaded the rest of the jailbreak and ran through flawlessly. Rebooted with the apple logo then switched to the GP boot logo a few seconds in. Try this, hope it was of some help. |
Did you were using tethered or monte jb? if it was monte you need to restore it first! |

I am having the same problem exactly. I have tried every variation of holding the home button while running GP. No luck. I tried restoring to custom fw4.2.1, and I notice that the Cydia icon is still there even after restore. I click on it but it won't open. Same with safari. |
