Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Pangu provides an iOS 9.0 untethered jailbreak. TaiG provides an iOS 8.4 and 8.3 untethered jailbreak.
Check @PanguTeam, @taig_jailbreak, @saurik, and /r/jailbreak for news and updates.
You can use Cydia Impactor if you need to un-jailbreak an 8.1-8.4 device without restoring.

How to fix some mysterious problems.

Got an old baseband 3Gs running 4.1 I'd like to update to 4.3.1 or 4.3.2.

I've got the new IPSW downloaded.
I've got my SSH blobs backed up.
I've got my cydia packages backed up with pkgbackup.
I've got the newest redsn0w downloaded.

Do I need to run Tinyumbrella or use PwnageTool or something?

I got this error when I tried to upgrade through itunes "the device isn't eligible for the requested build"

Thanks

What's the model number? (Settings>General>About>Model)

OK, just making sure it's not a 3G. I don't know why you're getting "the device isn't eligible for the requested build" error, unless you're using the wrong firmware file. Are you on Mac or Windows?

Mac with 10.6.
Updated version of Itunes.

When I plug in my phone itunes says "A new iPhone software version (4.3.2) is available for your iphone. Would you like to update your iPhone now?"
I click upgrade and now I'm getting "The iPhone cannot be updated at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable"

I just read this on the Dev teams page "Note that many people are currently having problems updating to 4.3.2 through saurik’s server. You’ll need to remove the gs.apple.com entry in your hosts file in order to restore directly to Apple’s servers." Applicable to me? I feel like I've messed with my host file before.

Click this with the browser you're using now: gs.apple.com

Do you get an Apple 404 page?

I found my hosts file and removed the gs.apple.com line that I remember putting in there for some reason. That fixed it right away.
Upgraded to 4.3.2, jailbroke and happy.
Thanks the help.
