How to fix some mysterious problems.

My real question is how would I go about this? Uninstall iTunes and install an older iTunes. Does 4.3.5 contact the update server? Really stumped here. Also what would be the best iOS to run the iPad on before the iOS makes the iPad lag

You could jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.9.15b3 (see our FAQ entry entitled 'What tool can I use to jailbreak?' for details). The highest supported (and only currently signed) iOS version for the iPad 2 is 9.3.5 per Wikipedia, currently unjailbreakable.

redsn0w will jailbreak it, but it will be tethered.

The last good version for the iPad 2 was 7.1.2, but you can only update to 9.3.5 now.
