How to fix some mysterious problems.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 5, running ios 8.4 Everything was working fine, never had a problem when jailbreaking or installing tweaks. Out of nowhere, it shut off. I didn't really notice the battery left, but it wasn't turning back on so I figured it'd ran out. I plugged it and it turned on as it normally would and about thirty seconds later or so, it rebooted. I manage to unlock it, type my password, get on the home screen, and whatever thirty seconds allow me to, when that time is over the screen kind of glitches and the phone reboots, and the same cycle goes on and on, has been this way for about 8 hours now. From what I read, boot loop usually comes almost immediately after a bad tweak has been installed, users can then use safe mode to uninstall it and voilá, but I haven't installed any new tweaks for the last couple of weeks, only updated one but about two days ago. Any ideas on what's going on and how can I fix it? Please help, it's driving me insaneeeee :(

EDIT: A lot of you have suggested entering Safe Mode, thank you for your responses btw, but I cannot do that. I've been able to enter it, but it reboots the same way as if it wasn't in safe mode. What can I do then? Any other solution? Thanks!

Tried it already, still rebooted :/ And even if I achieved it, what should I do from there?

does it say no sim, searching, or no service before it reboots?

I'm having the same problem with my 5s and I'm afraid I'm going to loose my jailbreak.

theiphoneguy - No, it does have service, the phone is perfectly fine (everything works at is should) for thirty seconds then it just dims and the loop continues

hartzog - Yeah, I'm trying to figure out a way to fix it without having to restore, update and re-jailbreak.

Google "boot iPhone in to safe mode" this should help you. Let me know if it works for you. It has helped me with the same issue.

It rebooted while in safe mode... Does this mean it has nothing to do with the tweaks I have installed?

(05 Dec '15, 13:02) mrljndr mrljndr's gravatar image

possibly. not all tweaks rely on substrate (example: upscale)

Soooo, seems like the only solution is restoring huh? :(

Try uninstalling the last Cydia tweak. Pull up the list by date. I think you can downgrade rather than uninstall compleatly.

There are a few possibilities:

1) You did not change the SSH password, your iOS device has been hacked. If this has happened, unfortunately the only option is to restore to the latest version.

2) You had a rogue tweak installed. Should only happen if you install tweaks from untrusted repos. Even if you have not installed any tweaks for a while, give safe mode a try.

3) Someone else messed with your phone, this is almost like #1, your only option is to restore.

You keep suggesting the least likely scenario first. In 1000 situations, 1 will be due to a hack. If you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.
