I just got an iphone 4 today and in the general>about info it says im running version 4.3(8f190) - i am assuming this is version 4.3.0 firmware ? I dont have any SHSH blobs at the moment and i am looking to perform an untethered break of my phone. After about a couple of hours of searching the internet i have not come up with any way of doing this unless i upgrade to 4.3.2 and do an tethered jailbreak which i would like to avoid at all costs. Is there any way i can do an untethered jailbreak of my new iphone ? I really don't care what version of the firmware i run on the phone, as long as i can do an untethered jailbreak. All help is greatly appreciated and i thank you in advance for your time :) |

You need to download a 4.3.1 ipsw from here for the iphone4, and then once downloaded connect iphone to itunes, cancel any offers of 4.3.2 and hold shift (PC) alt (Mac) while clicking on the restore button, this will open a pop up window where you navigate to and select the 4.3.1 ipsw you just downloaded, if Apple are still signing 4.3.1 then it will go ahead, if not itunes will refuse the restore. Once restored jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 There's no time to waste on this, the signing window could be closed already, I will check in a moment. EDIT - signing window looks to be still open so you should be ok to go to 4.3.1, bearing in mind that it looks likely there will be a 4.3.2 untether very soon and you'll be doing it all again. |

For the time being (wehther you decide to jailbreak or not) i strongly advise you to save the SHSH for 4.3.1 as it is still being signed. Use/run TinyUmbrella, connect your iPhone and hit the Save SHSH button. You never know if there are any major bugs or incompatibilities with other Cydia tweaks or Apps (although i doubt), but better be safe on this. Currently doing the 4.3.1 update - thanks for your info. I can also verify that the verification window is still open at the time of writing this. |

After performing the above actions mentioned by venusanann. I then proceeded to use redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc12, also using the same downloaded file and have successfully jailbroken the -edit- iphone -edit- Thanks again for the help :) |

@nkd0123 - your iphone is unlocked with the gevey sim, but you need help to unlock it....doesn't make sense.... ......and why bury it here, make anew thread if you think it's worth your while. |
