How to fix some mysterious problems.

I'll try to make this as short as possible. I had an iPod 5 jailbroken on 8.1.2 a little while ago. I made a back up and restored to iOS 8.3 because I wasn't happy with the performance, and applied that backup. The battery percentage hung around even though I did a restore prior and it was no longer jailbroken. Just got an iPhone 6 and restored to the most recent backup on my PC that came from my iPod. I know iPhones have battery percentage, but it's still there even when I disable it. Explanation?
