How to fix some mysterious problems.

Hi. I was wondering if I jailbreak my Sprint IPhone if I'll be able to use it on boost mobile? I've read a lot about jailbreaking sprint iPhones and the only possible solution I've seemed to find is that I could use my unlocked sprint iPhone on Boost Mobile or Verizon. Is this true?

No. Unlocking iPhones via jailbreak is only possible on the 3GS and older (and certain iPhone 4 models under rare circumstances). Sprint is about the most difficult carrier on earth as far as unlocking goes, except possibly for Softbank in Japan. It is possible to get a third-party IMEI unlock for a Sprint iphone, but it'll cost you around $150. Beware of scams.

What is a third party IMEI unlock for a sprint iPhone?

The IMEI is a unique identifier assigned to the phone at the factory. An IMEI unlock is an entry in Apple's database telling iTunes to unlock the carrier. Many people sell this service, but there are lots of scams out there. I would recommend asking at One of our moderators works with them, so I know they are legit. They don't list Sprint on their site, but they may be able to help you anyway.
