How to fix some mysterious problems.

I found a useful link after searching for repositories for developer tools, from March '13 I think.

I've jailbroken an iPad2 and in Cydia and after looking around and checking More Package Sources, I can't find The Big Boss repo and others anymore which seemed to have repo's for developer tools and utilities. I've been to the Useful Developer Resources, but it seems to assume that the repo's have been added and packages already installed, and gets started with "you should know something about Objective-C..." :)

I'm missing a few 'core' tools and packages I need such as 'file' and 'strings'; is GNU coreutils available? Sorry, I'm new to jailbreaking. I don't have much of an idea of what I'm doing inside the device, aside from basic stuff like SSH in, poke around, see what's already there...

About 24 hours ago when it was jailbroken, I had TheBigBoss's things there on the screen, and I had a look at other repositories which I can't find anymore; these contained packages such as LLVM/Clang and all the usual utilities on Mac OS X (or most of them?), and lots of GNU tools, even a GUI that looks like Xcode so you can develop inside the iPad and write apps.

Any help appreciated. iClarified first? Sources, Edit, Add,

Does Cydia check the packages once downloaded with gpg if they are signed?

Thank you all.
