How to fix some mysterious problems.

I have a iPhone6 running iOS 8.1.2 and would like update to iOS 8.3. What's the BEST/EASIEST/SAFEST way to do this?

I've never done an upgrade to a higher iOS without doing a RESTORE to the new iOS, then a restore a back up from iTunes/iCloud, then re-jailbreak.

Can I just: 1) Backup my iPhone6 with iTunes 2) Update to iOS 8.3 via iTunes 3) Re-jailbreak using Taig 2.1.2 4) Start the process/headache of putting back all my jailbreaks back on.

Is there a better way?

Backup in iTunes, restore to 8.3, restore backup and then jailbreak. That's the way I've always done it. If you don't want to restore the backup, you can skip that step.

Why would you need to restore from a backup if you didn't wipe your phone?

Because I suggest you restore and not use update because update can make you lose a lot a storage. Restoring will remove everything so to get the data back, restoring a backup is needed.

Thank you!

Sorry I misunderstood at first... you said certainly said RESTORE to 8.3 and not update. I hate the term Restore - wish is was "FLASH" or something.

That is ALSO how I've always done it, but wasnt sure if I could take the 'shortcut'.

Then manually replace your jailbreak tweaks? I have never used PKbackup. I fear that restoring jailbreak data from a previous jailbreak could cause problems, as some of the tweaks might not work for under the new iOS.

You are correct the best way to get all your tweaks back is use appinfo and email yourself you're list of sources and tweaks then install your known sources and then only install the tweaks that are compatible with 8.3 as the days roll on there will be more tweaks updated
