How to fix some mysterious problems.

I'm currently cleaning up my iPhone 5 from tweaks and stuff I don't really use. I just stumbled on wget and OpenSSL, and I don't remember putting them on the device. Now since these are "console" packages, my best guess is they were required for packages I once had to function properly. When hitting remove on OpenSSL, both get to the little list of packages removal. Can I safely delete those? Is my phone gonna function ok if I remove them? Doesn't any basic cydia stuff depend on them? Thanks.

OpenSSL is required for OpenSSH to work, it provides the encryption. wget is a command-line tool used for downloading files over http protocol. Neither one is big enough to save you any space by deleting them.

Not trying to save up space, just want to clear up any Unnecessary files to basically clean the system. So, if I don't have OpenSSH anymore I can safely delete both packages?

There may be other packages depending on them, I have no idea off the top of my head. If nothing else is added to the uninstall queue when you select Modify/remove, you should be ok to delete them.

Yeah, nothing else is added to the queue. Thanks man

on a 5 it is strongly STRONGLY advised to keep openssh installed. it provides one possible way out of a bad situation. a bad situation means restoring. restoring means 8.1.3 and no jailbreak
