How to fix some mysterious problems.

I upgraded some apps in cydia and now when I try to open any app, the phone crashes and goes into safe mode and the touch is unresponsive in safe mode. Can you help me out on this, as I am not even able to open any app not even messages and calls in normal mode and the touch is unresponsive in safe mode.

Can you open cydia ? We need to know what repo/sources you have and what tweaks you've installed ?

The tags "iphone3gs" and "ios4.2.1" tell me that you're likely a 3g owner who thinks he has a 3gs. Knowing which device you actually have is often helpful in avoiding and/or fixing problems. If it is a 3gs, I would suggest restoring to iOS 6.1.6.
