So right now my iPod Touch 4G is on iOS 4.2.1 and i used Greenpois0n RC6 to jailbreak it. So i been hearing that the official [Untethered] jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 is going to be released really soon, so i want to update my iTouch to 4.3.1 and i know if i do that it will "erase" the jailbreak, but what else does it erase when i update? will it erase my contacts, camera roll pics and vids, notes ? and what happens to the [CRACKED] apps that i downloaded? should i just erase those jailbreak things like apps and tweaks myself? and LAST, do i just 1.backup my iTouch 2."Download and Update" or what? restore?? thanks! damn that's a lot of typing thanks tho |

When you UPDATE the jailbreak will be undone and all unofficial Apps will stop working. Anything official to Apple will remain functional such as contacts, notes and AppStore apps. Howver maintaining everything depends on the next jailbreak which seems to be a redsn0w, I'd say wait till the next jailbreak is out and ask again; in all cases you should create a backup in iTunes before updating, this will come in handy in case you run into problems. |
