On the computer - yes. iPhone - no.

GP uses your computer's internet connection to jailbreak, not your phone's. Wifi won't come into play until you use Loader, which downloads cydia. If you have a problem with that, you can install cydia via redsn0w. Detailed instructions here.

Whether your iPhone has a WiFi connection or not (or even a 3G connection) makes zero difference to jailbreaking it. Your computer however will need a working Internet connection, as some extra files are downloaded during the jailbreak process.

If you're not able to have an Internet connection while jailbreaking, there's another thread on here discussing how to to work around this by copying across specific files before you start.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to ask another ? Here or start another thing? It pertains to the other ? Though. Anyways

So can I just jailbreak it @ home on desktop with no wifi just internate. Then go to starebucks or a wifi hotspot and download caydia from there? Right? Wow guys I can't thank you guys enough. I had no idea you could do so much with this stuff and I've been an apple user since the first iPhone. Or how they try to keep us from doing it.

Well it's kinda the same question, so fair enough to continue it here...

And yep, that should work, though you can just install Cydia over your 3G instead of WiFi too.

Or use redsn0w, which needs no internet on the phone at all for cydia installation.

while you're out, go to the store and get a cheap wireless router for your home. Doesn't affect the jailbreak one way or another but you'll get much more enjoyment that way afterward.

What is the best one out them all in your opinion? I've heard more good things about greenpois0n. Not that I've heard a ton of bad things about redsnow. Thanks a million

Jailbreak with greenpois0n, and if loader doesn't install cydia properly, use redsn0w to install cydia only.
