How to fix some mysterious problems.

Hello,

I want to jailbreak my Ipod Touch, 8GB and V3.

When i pass to DFU mode, Greenpois0n tell me "try again", but Itunes says my Ipod touch is in DFU mode.

Please, help!

Are you on a Mac or PC?

Make sure you have a good, non-proxied, broadband (not dialup!) internet connection on the computer you're running GP on.

Make sure your device is running iOS 4.2.1

Make sure you have the latest iTunes installed. Do not update to 4.3 if it asks you to.

Delete the 2 payload files from the previous GP attempt. They'll be in the folder GP is in, named iBSS.nXXap & kernelcache.release.nXX.

On a Mac they will be in greenpois0n.app/Contents/MacOS

Run GP again.

1.I have a good, non-proxied internet connexion.

2.I'm sure my device is on iOS 4.2.1

3.I've isntalled iTunes today =/

4.I run on windows, and in the folder of GP, there is only the README file and the exe file of GreenPoison.

Sounds like you're running GP from inside the zip file. Extract it to your desktop and run it again, then you'll see the payload files.

Are you getting into DFU with idevice turned off or on?

Also, when you're in DFU, the iPod screen will be black. iTunes will say it's in recovery mode, whether it's in DFU or recovery. Is the "connect to iTunes->USB" picture on your iPod? If so, you're in recovery, not DFU.
