How to fix some mysterious problems.

This is my first iPhone i am dealing with and I somehow couldn't load Cydia despite jailbreak worked. Each time I tap on Cydia it just blinked. And now I am facing another problem of not being able to delete it even after restoring my iPhone (which still is at 4.2.1). Can someone assist me on how to delete it as well as how to successfully jailbreak and unlocking my iPhone4? Thanks in advance! :)

Don't delete cydia, it's the purpose of jailbreaking.

Loader is buggy. Install cydia via redsn0w. Detailed instructions here.

I wouldn't jailbreak 4.2.1 now, as the new 4.3 JB is coming. But as you already jailbroke, I advise you to get all apps you need, but do not fill your entire iPhone with them, because you will soon end up updating the iOS, and the free Cydia packages backuper - Aptbackup - has tons of bugs).
