Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Pangu provides an iOS 9.0 untethered jailbreak. TaiG provides an iOS 8.4 and 8.3 untethered jailbreak.
Check @PanguTeam, @taig_jailbreak, @saurik, and /r/jailbreak for news and updates.
You can use Cydia Impactor if you need to un-jailbreak an 8.1-8.4 device without restoring.

How to fix some mysterious problems.

As with any new firmware, the locations of many UI elements have changed. In order to easily create and update WinterBoard themes, it would be useful for us to compile a list of the paths of commonly themed UI elements.

To get involved in helping out is really simple! You can open up iFunbox, iFile, or your favorite iPhone filesystem browser, and basically "snoop around" looking for .pngs that contain a UI element that you think should be themed (i.e. the unlock slider or Answer/Decline buttons), and then post an answer to this post with your findings.

If you are searching for the path of a specific element that you need for your theme, and can't find it, feel free to add an answer to this post asking where it is, and (hopefully) someone will find its location and comment on your answer with its path.

The goal of this is just to help everyone with the daunting task of updating their themes by dividing the work up among the community, as well as creating a nice reference guide to help others create themes. Happy theming!

The slider shine is in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringboardFoundations.framework Some of the sliders are in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringboardUI.framework

I found these two .png's, which based on their file names and appearance, appear to also be making the shine (unless those are the iOS 6 files):

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework/bottombarlocktextmask@2x.png /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework/shine_mask@2x.png

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringboardUI.framework did not have any sliders for me, however I did find the circles and squares used for the Control Center toggles and the four apps at the bottom of Control Center

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringboardFoundations.framework had the unlock slider...success! It also seems to have the shine, as well as a very funny wallpaper(?) called stripes@2x.png, that looks like an easter egg of sorts.

I guess I'll start...anyone know where the unlock slider is located? It used to be in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework.

Also, does anyone know what makes the slider "shine"? like that moving silver effect, I'm pretty sure it's a .png...

This basically everything I found (of value) in TelephonyUI.framework:

Found the change front/back facing camera button: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework/icon-flipcamera@2x.png

Also found the numbers for the dialpad, and maybe the unlock numbers as well (but not the circles that surround them). There are many different .png's, but they all start with keypad: System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework/keypad...

Interestingly enough, all the iOS 6 TelephonyUI.framework files appear to still be there (but they don't seem to do anything). I wonder if its possible to make iOS 7 look exactly like iOS 6 using WinterBoard (I haven't check to see if the other iOS 6 graphics are still there as well). More feasible (and practical): We can probably delete all of these .png's (there are a lot of them), as iOS 7 doesn't appear to be using them, and save ourselves a good amount of space on our devices. Anyone want to try it out?

ok so none of the locations on this page work to change the "slide to unlock" shine i tried all of them:

bottombarlocktextmask@2x

shine_mask@2x

_legacy_bottombarlocktextmask@2x

the shine is still default white after rebooting i changed it to a rainbow first time on ios6

we still need an answer to this
