Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Question

Hi I'm new to this whole jailbreaking thing and from what I've read so far the greenpois0n jailbreak seems to delete the apple store, so what is the recommended jailbreak to use for the iPad? (with the least amount of problems), I have a lot of apps so I really don't want to do a restore if something doesn't work.

It would be great to hear from someone who's already jailbroken their iPad, thanks!

Run the latest redsn0w then run greenpois0n over it is good and sn0wbreeze and PwnageTool is very good but requires a restore, so back up everything. greenpois0n by itself is usually fine as long as it's run in compatibility mode as an administrator, it worked for my iPad. It installs Cydia and tethers your iPad, then just run greenpois0n on top of it to untether it.

I'm trying to use redsn0w now but the program wants an IPSW file, how do I find this?

Either in your 'ipad software updates' folder (google its location) or download one from http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Firmware
