You left out a step; they have to select the 6.0 ipsw again before booting tethered, even if they don't close redsn0w, it forgets.

Firstly get redsn0w 0.9.15b3(latest version). Then download the iOS 6.0 firmware.

Open redns0w,go to Extras>Select IPSW and select your 6.0 IPSW firmware.Go back and click Jailbreak.Put your device into DFU mode.Lets the jailbreak finnish itself

After the jailbreak process has finnished(DONT EXIT REDSN0W)you need to boot it into the jailbroken state.Go to Extras>Select IPSW and select the 6.0 firmware. Then go to Extras>Just Boot and put your device into DFU mode again. Now your device will be jailbroken.

Note Every time you turn off your device or your battery runs out,you need to connect your iPod to your computer, run redns0w,Extras>Select IPSW and select your 6.0 firmware and click Just Boot
