How to fix some mysterious problems.

I kept getting stuck at the beginning of the process. It says "Retrieving information from device to generate jailbreak data...", but it never moves from this step. I have rebooted my iPhone5 (6.1.2) and reran the process, but it still gets stuck at that same step. Can anybody help me figure out why at getting stuck at that step and how to move past that step??

Yes, King Shoot, my iPhone is showing up in iTunes and Windows Explorer, but for some reason the syncing gets stuck and the backing up my iPhone takes for the point where I just give up on both.

To JB your device, follow carefully the steps below:

  1. Download and install latest version of iTunes;
  2. Download and install latest version of evasi0n;
  3. Plug your iDevice to your computer, let iTunes backup and sync but refuse the iOS update;
  4. If you're under Windows, temporary disable any AntiVirus/FireWall you might be running;
  5. Disable the lock and backup passwords of your iDevice if you have any;
  6. Under Windows, run evasi0n as admin (right-click and choose Run as Administrator);
  7. Let it do it's things and follow carefully the instructions;
  8. Follow the further instructions until the process completes;
  9. Restore your backup;
  10. Enjoy!

Hope this helps,

Great! I will try that. However, the syncing of my iPhone gets stuck and the backing up my iPhone takes for forever, so I just give up after awhile. I think it is my computer maybe? It is about 3 to 4 years old with a lot of stuff on it. What do you guys think?

Yes, it is a good idea indeed to try to do it with another computer if it doesn't work following the steps above.

Just repeat them on the other computer.
