Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Pangu provides an iOS 9.0 untethered jailbreak. TaiG provides an iOS 8.4 and 8.3 untethered jailbreak.
Check @PanguTeam, @taig_jailbreak, @saurik, and /r/jailbreak for news and updates.
You can use Cydia Impactor if you need to un-jailbreak an 8.1-8.4 device without restoring.

How to fix some mysterious problems.

I want to downgrade my iPhone 4 from 6.1.2 to 4.3.3. I have SHSHs for both.

Unfortunately the latest baseband is installed, so no chances of unlock. Nevermind, let's just see the compatibility side of this:

My question is: Will there be compatibility problems if I downgrade to 4.3.3 using a NO_BB custom firmware? Is it OK to use 4.3.3 with 6.1.2's baseband?

Also... when it comes to the CFW... do you think it's sn0wbreeze or redsn0w?

EDIT: I need it for some testing only, but I still want to make phone calls while on it. :D

Why do you want to downgrade,

4.3.3 supports only a handful of apps And games

I suggest that you save your 6.1.2 SHSH blobs using iFaith so you can go back to 6.1.2

Just for testing a few apps on it. I do have saved my 6.1.2 SHSH already but thanks for the note! :)

@i4user I don't have 4.3.3 blobs for my iPhone3,1 (so can't help verify baseband compatibility with that iOS version) but I've got them for it since 5.1 - is there anything I can assist with using those?

Regarding CFW, I prefer not to use iTunes directly unless I must (or for testing/verifying things) and have used redsn0w 0.9.15b3's Extras > Even more > Restore of 4.3.3 on my new bootrom 3GS accordingly (and 5.1.1 on my 4).

hi, @IgetIteh it would be great if you could check compatibility 04.12.05 with 5.1 or 5.1.1 please! :)

@i4user Everything went without a hitch: shift+restore stock 6.1.3 -> sn0wbreeze iFaith mode 6.1.2 -> redsn0w restore with [No] re: 'preserve baseband?'(*). It's semi-tethered but the phone's operational for both boot types.

(*) As expected, it remained as 04.12.05 and its (Bell) carrier version reverted to 12.0 (was 14.0).

@i4user: You said "I do have saved my 6.1.2 SHSH already but thanks for the note! :)"
Unless you did this with iFaith and only iFaith, the blobs are no good, so don't rely on them. See here for details.

@spockers I saved it with iFaith and am using a sn0wbreeze cfw so its working

@IgetIteh Ok, thanks for the test!

@i4user You're welcome, and if you need 9B206 or 9B208 verified then let me know which.

@IgetIteh Could you check 9B206 please? :)

(24 Jul '13, 09:34) i4user i4user's gravatar image

@i4user Will do (when I next get a chance to) and a clarification; my test's semi-tethered outcome was because it was for 9B176.

@i4user Everything went without a hitch again: shift+restore stock 10B329 -> sn0wbreeze iFaith mode 10B146 -> redsn0w restore 9B206 with [No] re: 'preserve baseband?'. It's untethered, the phone's operational, Modem Firmware remained as 04.12.05 and Carrier version became 12.0 (was 14.0).

For completeness I verified 9B208 likewise, and its outcome was as per 9B206.
