Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Pangu provides an iOS 9.0 untethered jailbreak. TaiG provides an iOS 8.4 and 8.3 untethered jailbreak.
Check @PanguTeam, @taig_jailbreak, @saurik, and /r/jailbreak for news and updates.
You can use Cydia Impactor if you need to un-jailbreak an 8.1-8.4 device without restoring.

How to fix some mysterious problems.

Since I did not get any good reply, I wanna ask here again.

It's been like this since I got my iPod a couple of months after release. They worked fine for my iPod Touch 2G on the same iOS (4.1) Yes I did update to 4.2.1 Yes I know I need winterboard which again is obvious since I mentioned my iTouch 2G worked

I thought I'd just need another directory for the 4G but couldn't find anything about it.

So here I am; What should I do? (a restore is not a valid reply -- I obviously updated which should have the same effect) (I jailbroke with greenpois0n both times)

Update and Restore is not the same.

What do you mean with custom sliders? I don't understand you. Do you mean you want to install some Theme?

Do you need to jailbreak or what?

Yeah, sliders from a theme. I enabled the theme which has always worked on my 2nd generation iPod, not on my 4th gen. And now there are no sliders.

More details please. Which theme? Screenshots working and non-working would also help.

If a specific theme is not working as expected, I would recommend to contact the author of that theme. You can see contact details in Cydia description.

Some sliders do work on 4.2.1, the ones i have found that work are set out like this: Theme name/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI/Then we have 6 images, all the same image but different names

bottombarknobgray@2x.png

bottombarknobgreen.png

bottombarknobgreen@2x.png

I have had success with some sliders by basicly copying the images from them and making 6 files of it using these names and making sure the folder names are as stated above aswell, so maybe give this a try.

Here is a screenshot of one i'm using that has the files set out like above

The difficulty with themes is that it's not only different iOS versions that have different filenames and locations of the resources needing replacing--it's also different devices! This pretty much means that for some theming (apparently including lock sliders), theme builders need to release device specific versions of their themes!

I gave up on themes since 4.0, they all keep breaking, even the paid ones, sick of having to keep trying to fix them :(
