How to fix some mysterious problems.

Ok, I've got an iPhone 5 ios 6.1 jailbroken with evasi0n.

I installed the "mail enhancer" tweak and all of the sudden my phone went into safe mode. When I try to restart, it just stays in safe mode. I go into cydia and try to remove the tweak but now cydia won't load ANY packages, period. I can see my sources but when you tap one there is nothing inside. Also I get message after cydia loads up:

"wow, you exceeded the number of package names this APT is capable of" "Problem with mergelist /var/lib/apt/lists/apt.modmyi.com_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_packages" "The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened"

Any ideas on how to resolve this? Or am I going to have to wipe it clean and start fresh?

Try this, delete the source that u got the mail enhancer and try to load cydia again

@Kaung1999 This problem isn't related to any specific source - the Mail Enhancer safe mode issue is just coincidental.

To get rid of the error message and be able to use Cydia again, you just have to remove some sources. See the FAQ's guide to Cydia error messages:

Wow, you exceeded the number of package names this APT is capable of.
Problem with MergeList [file]
The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

You have more than 65,535 packages available from your installed sources, and Cydia cannot handle this many. Go to Manage -> Sources on iPhone and iPod touch (or Sources on iPad), tap "Edit" at top right, and remove some sources. It's recommended to keep the stock repositories (BigBoss, Cydia/Telesphoreo, Dev Team, ModMyi and ZodTTD/MacCiti).

Also, if some sources seem to not have a "remove" button when you try to remove them, that usually means they were installed as packages. Go to Manage -> Packages on iPhone/iPod touch (or to Installed on iPad), find the package with the source's name, and uninstall that package.

Note that the default sources have approximately 41 thousand packages available. This leaves approximately 24 thousand spots for other packages from non-default sources. As long as you stick to using sources that don't contain pirated packages, there is room for a lot.

It worked after removing a source: ModMyi.

I deleted ModMyi and I'm trying to get it back, it comes up with "problem with mergelist/var/lib/apt/lists/apt.modmyi.com_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_packages" but I don't even have ModMyi. I deleted the arm_packages file through iFile but nothing changed. Help?!

@cydiacrashesalot It's not a good idea to remove ModMyi - a lot of useful packages are hosted on that source. To get it back, you can go to "More Package Sources" on the Cydia homepage, which will give you an option to add ModMyi.
