I downloaded the newest jailbreak, evasi0n for ios 6.1 on my IPad 2. I want to get rid of it. I tried to restore in itunes but it says I need a security update. I've heard that restoring in DFU mode will work, but I'm worried something will go wrong. Will this work?

P.S. Will it fully remove the jailbreak?

The only thing you should worry about is the backup of your stuff.

You are about to erase everything on your iDevice to start from scratch.

As long as you properly backup your stuff, you should not worry.

YES, it will fully remove the JB.

Hope this helps,

Just restore in iTunes, this will remove the jailbreak. Restoring with iTunes is a basic function of all iDevices. Jailbreaking doesn't do anything permanent, you can always restore. I don't know what's telling you that you need a security update in order to restore, can you elaborate on that?

When I click restore in itunes a mandatory update comes up. It says "This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:

• LTE support for more carriers (complete list of supported carriers at <http://www.apple.com/ipad/LTE/>)
• Purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri (USA only)
• iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
• New button to reset the Advertising Identifier

For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222"

When I click the links it tells me it is a security update, I'm afraid if I update it will send information to apple and I will void my warranty.

Do the update. Apple has bigger things to do than spy on individuals in order to void their device warranties! It's just an update to iTunes, it's nothing whatsoever to be even a teeny tiny bit slightly worried about.

Actually, isn't that the list of iOS 6.1 updates?
