How to fix some mysterious problems.

Hi, I got iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1 (10B142), Factory Unlocked.

I used evasi0n as per instructions and everything is fine except one thing. I can't use Keyboard Shortcuts!!!

I can see the shortcut list but when i write in SMS/Email/social networking websites/notes etc the shortcuts aren't de-abbreviated.

I have rebooted my phone many times but its still same.

I didn't install any additional Cydia packages. Please help!

I restored with ipsw file and did a fresh re-JB and the shortcuts were back to normal. Thanks for all the suggestions :)

You might wanna check your tweaks against THIS LIST to see if there'd be any incompatibility w/iOS 6.x

I checked the list in detail, I don't have any of the NOT or Partly incompatible tweaks installed from that list. As I said earlier I had the issue ever since I used Evasi0n and before I installed any new Cydia tweak, besides the default ones.

Do you mean the default packages (the ones that are already in Cydia the first time you open up Cydia)? Are these keyboard shortcuts you made on your device before you jailbroke, or ones that you made after you jailbroke?

Also, this apparently happens on non-jailbroken devices as well - it might just be a bug iOS 6.1 for some people and not related to the jailbreak.

@britta shortcuts are both old (from backup) as well as new ones that I made after using evasi0n. Yes by default packages meant the ones that are already in Cydia the first time you open up Cydia. I didnt have this issue on iOS 6.0, when it wasn't jailbroken.

Disable Documents and Data in iCloud then reenable.

This is an issue with iOS 6 & if you google the topic you will know. There are different solutions suggested & you'll have to solve in stages. Let us know how it goes.

Try deleting appsync if you installed it. That fixed it for me. Just look in packages for it and then delete. It should work

i am on iphone 5 6.0.2 and my shortcuts also not working as soon as i jailbroke the problem is with appsync 6.0

if you want keyboard shortcuts and appsync -- first uninstall appsync 6.0 and then install appsync 5.0+ and it will be able to solve your problem

What do you use appsync for?

(20 Feb '13, 02:21) justinred ♦ justinred's gravatar image

Illegal apps. Appsync Is why jail breaking is frowned apon. Try removing and staying removed

I too had messed up shortcuts idk why I ended up restoring all is well now.
