How to jailbreak iOS 6.0-6.1.2 untethered on all iOS devices (and 6.1.3 tethered on older iOS devices).
Apple has released iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4; do not upgrade/restore (if you want to keep your jailbreak). You cannot downgrade/upgrade/restore to 6.1.2 using SHSH blobs on newer devices; older devices that can use SHSH blobs are iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch 4th gen. Learn more.

No, jailbreaking is used to download the third party applications like themes, ringtones, games etc... To use your Iphone 5 with T-mobile you need to unlock your mobile. Use remote unlocking service to unlock your Iphone 5. Get the service from the site Mobileunlocksolutions.com , and unlock it using unlocking instructions. Get free unlocking instructions from the site Mobileunlockguide.com .

try and have the original carrier unlock it, if that don't work find a trusted 3rd party imei unlock.

No. Jailbreak and unlocking are two different things. Please check with the carrier for an unlock or go to shop.iproservice.com to buy an IMEI unlock. Please note if you are in the US and purchased the phone after 26th January 2013 it is illegal to unlock it via IMEI.
