There is no way to get iOS 6 on the first generation iPad. The latest is 5.1.1. |

Hard reset out of recovery mode and restore your device in dfu mode. So as soon as it restarts you must start the dfu countdown else it will just go back into recovery. Dfu mode from recovery mode: Hard reset by pressing and holding the home and power button until restart. As it restarts Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode |

If you able to restore the device in itunes from recovery mode just do that else follow my steps. |

If the worst comes to the worst and you were jailbroken before you could always stitch the blobs cydia stored into the 5.1.1 ipsw through Redsnow and use pawned dfu mode to do it. Its also worth trying the recovery fix tab in the extras settings if youve had any errors with itunes. Put it back into dfu mode and click it in Redsnow. Good luck. |
