Hello,

So since evasi0n is released I updated my 3Gs from 5.1.1 to 6.1 using sn0wbreeze (BaseBand preservation mode). Now when I open the phone, it asks me to activate it. I thought a jailbreak would do it but evasi0n says: 'the attached device is not activated. You need to activate it before you can apply the jailbreak.'

How can I activate it so I can jailbreak it with evasi0n?? THANKS!!

use redsn0w to do a tethered jailbreak and it will bypass the activation screen, then you can go to cydia store and search for evasi0n 6.x untether and you'll be untethered

right,so you gotta download the 6.0 ipsw, open redsn0w go on extras>select the 6.0 ipsw and it will ask to you what's your 3gs model, follow the steps, now go back go on jailbreak follow the steps and everything should work fine

you need to use "select IPSW" button to manually select the 6.0 file. If you don't - of course it'll read the version from the phone, find that version is 6.1 and throw you an error.

I am stuck in the same problem. I tried to downgrade back to 6.0 with redsn0w but it asks for blobs.. which aren't available for 6.0

is there any chance I get my phone back?

what iPhone is that? If it's 3GS or 4, you can make a custom 6.1 IPSW in Sn0wbreeze or wait till redsn0w is updated to support 6.1. And save your SHSH for time being ;)

ask your friends with Windows PC to get Sn0wbreeze and make you a custom ipsw. You can use it on your Mac if you copy it over.

Dear Khalil17,

Could you please confirm what is your current basedband (Settings-General- About). And do you know if you have an old bootrom or new?
