Any advanced user able to tell us how to JB Apple TV2 on 6.1 as announced ? Cheers |

Source Appletvhacks.net UPDATE: Although it has been confirmed by @MuscleNerd that evasi0n would support Apple TV 2, it seems that it doesn’t. Based on earlier news from evad3rs team, we believed their jailbreak was compatible with Apple TV 2 when publishing the below post just a few minutes after evasi0n went live. We are very sorry for causing confusion. We now have to wait for Seas0nPass to be updated with iOS 6.x support for Apple TV 2. We believe it won’t take long. |

As of right now, Apple is still signing AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw which I believe is the one currently supported by Seas0nPass. I could not tell you why they are still signing an old version but I just verified it with TinyUmbrella. You can download that and use Seas0nPass to build a jailbroken ipsw and install it. At least that would keep you from having a worthless device until Seas0nPass is updated. |

Good day, JB comrades :-) I used seasonpass to revert to 5.0.2, for all those who don't know, it downloads the right ispw, patches it and lets you install it automatically on the atv2. I used the silver remote (no DFU mode otherwise... unless script usage to force DFU mode) JB went fine, just to highlight some issues, once nitotv is installed and XBMC (through nitotv installer or through ssh), it is better:
I have been able to figure out a way to add external source of a specific configuration: adding a USB external HD OS ext with afp protocol. It returns error when you add afp://192.168.0.5/shareddrive but it requests to save the the location anyway. then go one level back up and open zeroconfig, you will find there, your shared HD fully browsable with the following address afp://192.168.0.5:548/shareddrive (with port added).... but I guess I'll make another post about this tweak because I found a lot of people on the net having this unresolved issue. By the way, after investigating Snowbreeze newly JB tool for ATV 6.1 I wouldn't recommend to use it as nor nitotv or xbmc are ready for it. Maybe Firecore ($$) tools would be suitable as they are ahead of the others in terms of JB add ons/tools for ATV. Cheers to all of you for your dedicated help. JLP

does your 5.1.1 jailbreak by seasonpass is untethered or tethered? on my computer seasonpass dowloads 5.0.2 not 5.1.1 automatically , how did you made it to dowload 5.1.1? thanks in advance sorry, after relecture of my post it is indeed 5.0.2, I will edit it :) I wished 5.1.1 was jailbroken, for some reason this is the only firwar with Hebrew language in it, i wonder why? by the way I used firecore for 5.2 and no XBMC yet. i think it worth the money but will wait for it to update I keep getting crashes in video like this http://pastebin.com/xsJKk2eb it is mentioned on http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=AFP but I think I found a workaround... when pause/play it for 1sec every 10 min, crashes don't appear, I will report that to XBMC for their future researches. I will try SMB protocol to check if crashes repeat in order to see if protocol is the one causing the problem. DIDNT HAD THIS PROBLEM, mayby the source is not good. do you have any idea as for the language disappearance issue? did it happand with apple in the past? I have switched from Analog to HDMI on audio Source output (still on AFP) and no crash so far. Next I will switch to NFS protocol for testing. |
