How to fix some mysterious problems.

This applies to you if:

  • You have iphone4 version 4.2
  • jailbroken by greenpoison
  • had "categories" in old version prior to upgrading to 4.2
  • lost all your icons that was inside the "categories" made folders
  • you don't want to do a restore

Here's my story: Basically, I had categories before and upgraded to 4.2 and installed cydia blah blah blah... and then I lost my icons that was inside the categories made folder.

I don't want to restore since I don't want to lose everything... pictures, apps, etc...

this is what I did:

I was lucky enough to have cydia running in the multitask bar... launched it and downloaded categories, winterboard, sbsettings (i guessed that those were the issues so I installed them again).

after installing sbsettings I went and launched it and went to "more". from there I chose "dock applications" from there I was able to choose which apps I want to show in the sbsettings dock. I chose the ones I really need, categories was one of them. it will reload.

open sbsettings again and choose dock. you should see the apps you chose. launch categories and start organizing again. best to reboot. after reboot, you'll see your categories folders again.

all done.
