How to fix some mysterious problems.

Below are the steps I'm planning on doing to upgrade my current jailbroken 4s on 5.1.1 to 6.1 using evasi0n. I already have my SHSH Blobs saved. Please tell me if any of this is incorrect:

1) Backup iphone in itunes 2) Erase all content and settings on iphone 3) Plug into iTunes and upgrade to 6.1 3) Jailbreak using evasi0n 4) Restore iphone from iTunes

Enjoy my jailbroken 4s on 6.1!

Thanks

Exactly.. There is no need to manually delete all contents.. Restore will do that.

Yes, I will restore from backup. Sorry, I thought that would be implied. I was going to manually delete all contents to speed up the jailbreak. I vaguely remember doing this for Absinthe.

  1. Backup iPhone in iTunes
  2. Plug into iTunes and restore to 6.1 (Doing so from the device/erase will brick your device.)
  3. Jailbreak using evasi0n
  4. Restore iPhone from iTunes

Oh, and once you restore to 6.1, even with SHSH saved, there may be a chance you cannot restore back to 5.1.1, because A5+ devices are a pain.
