How to fix some mysterious problems.

hello people, i got a small question.

as we now tomorrow hopefully 6.x jb will release but i have a question, as readed in the "requirements" it said 'An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version)'

what do they mean? i got 5.1.1 so does it mean that i have to update to 6.0 first and after that to 6.1? because when i read this im thinking about to update to 6.1 then restore to 6.0? to jb? can someone please confirm this.

You can either update to 6.0 or 6.1 to jailbreak. I suggest 6.1 then, because it has no much difference from 6.0, but simply is the latest version. The other thing is: @Winocm is working on a program to downgrade to 5.1.1 from 6.0 / 6.1 - read more about it here:

In other words: You're safe to update to 6.0 or to 6.1 - but if you do so, not over the air (OTA), but via iTunes on PC. Make sure to create an iTunes- or an iCloud backup with your device before.

Hope I could help.

you would need to know what device he has. like the a5 devices can't restore with shsh.. and for 6.1 you would need shsh for devices that can use that option..

You can update from any ios 3.x.x , 4.x.x or 5.x.x to ios 6.1 directely with iTunes

Then you can jailbreak it with Evasi0n :)

yess thank you, so its not giving any difficulties of you update it rightaway to 6.1? so its just: stick in Itunes, backup everything, update to 6.1 and then Jailbreak it?
