How to fix some mysterious problems.

I have read that "If you choose to upgrade, use iTunes. Not OTA."

Sorry this is a noob question. I searched iTunes for the update but can't find it. Does Upgrade use iTunes. Not OTA simply mean connect to a computer? And update on the computer not directly on the ipad? The last time I updated it was OTA but I want to be ready for jailbreak properly.

Thanks for the help!

Essentially, if you update OTA and in future iOS versions a exploit is found you couldn't downgrade because theres different SHSH. With restore you might be able to downgrade if an exploit is found some day.

Don't click update. Right click your iPhone, select "Back Up" (wait...) and then click Restore.

Go to iTunes, plug device in, click it and click on update. If you are currently jailbroken, click restore.
