How to fix some mysterious problems.

I have a iPod touch 4g that is jail broken. I wanted to unjail break it i wasn't sure what to do so I decided to reset the whole ipod in my settings. When it shut off its now stuck on the apple logo screen. It will stay on the logo screen for about 25 minutes then the screen will turn all white but then it'll go back to the apple logo screen. I've tried plugging it in the computer to itunes but my iPod didn't get recognized. Can someone please help me! I must remind you my home button is broke

Never erase all data and settings on a jailbroken device as it usually falls into a bootloop. There is nothing you can do to a device on bootloop with a broken home button. Get the button fixed.

To un-jailbreak you're not supposed to reset through settings, you're supposed to restore through iTunes. Given the fact that your home button is not working I would suppose you have now bricked your device.

unless you fix that home button there is nothing I know of

Would I have to go to the apple store to get it fixed?

You can, but almost any cell phone repair shop will do it.

I would recommend against it because jailbreaking voids the warranty so they won't service it. If anything attempt buying the parts and fixing it yourself (parts at ifixit) or finding someone that can do it for you.

They won't know it's jailbroken. It's in a loop.

but if the tech is smart enough to investigate how it got like that...

Won't happen.
