How to fix some mysterious problems.

Hi Guys,

I have recently setup a Raspberry Pi connected to an Aux cable in my car, to stream music over AirPlay via XBMC. To do this, I have put in a place a small router to dish out a WiFi connection which allows me to stream via AirPlay.

The WiFi connection does not have any internet access, and I've noticed that while connected, I am unable to use 3G either (no fall back option apparently...)

Does anyone know of a JB tweak, or a setting somewhere, that will allow this to be possible? I'm unsure if it's a restriction of the chip they're using or just an overlooked idea.

Thanks in advance :)

Yes. If you go into your wifi settings, and set your iDevice with a static IP (can be the same one that your router gives you), set the subnet mask (again to the same), but make sure the Default Gateway IP is BLANK, then the phone will connect to your wifi for airplay, but continue to use cellular data to access the internet :-)

Awesome, thank you!

I will give this a test next time I am in the car and see :D

You're welcome! I was going to do the same thing in my car, so I did all the testing, but got too lazy and just bought a Bluetooth unit ;p

Just to update, this worked perfectly! Despite setting the router to not give out a default gateway with DHCP, it still did...

Any, thank you a lot! :)
