Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Question

I haven't ever jailbroken anything before, but would like to. But I would also like to keep the progress I have made on my apps such as Final Fantasy and such.Do I have to restore it or is there a way to keep my apps how they were?
