ok so my wife has a 3gs which was jailbroke and unlocked with ios5 she updated it accidentally to ios6 which im assuming is why its doin what its doing. Initially it would only come up with the itunes logo and a pic of the iphone lead going into it. Plugged it into itunes but didnt do much til i put in dfu mode. It the finished updating but now its not going past the activation screen. How can I get this thing back up and running. Any help would be hugely appreciated Thanks |

I would recommend finding someone to factory unlock it. The whole situation with restoring/updating probably wiped out the unlock, which is required to get past the activation screen. It is a bit on the pricey side, but factory unlocking is permanent, in case of the need to ever restore/update again in the future. Just this past weekend, on Saturday, unlocking phones purchased after Saturday became illegal in the U.S., however, this does not affect older phones, such as the iPhone 3GS. |
Did you try hard restore using home and power button?
@sush232 Rebooting the phone isn't likely to help with activation problems.
