It saves shsh blobs of the current firmware so that you can always restore to it even when new firmwares are out. Everytime you hit restore button in itunes it requires signed certification (shsh blob) from Apple server before it will let you restore, problem is apple only signs the newest version firmware so if you don't have them saved you lost the ability to restore to old firmware forever, and this is not good if you're a jailbreaker/unlocker. These shsh blobs are unique to each phone so they are not transferable.

So run it now to save your 4.2.1 blob before 4.3 comes out in a few weeks time. And make sure you download and run the latest version tinyumbrella everytime a new firmware is introduced. It's a very important thing to do that people often overlook.

EDIT you should run it even if you're not jailbreaker/unlocker. Just imagine it, what if the new firmware has bugs or removes certain feature you require?
