How to fix some mysterious problems.

Hello everybody. I have: iPhone 3GS, old BR, iOS 4.3.1, 05.13.04 BB, and I need Ultrasn0w and I want to upgrade to 5.1.1.

(I received this iPhone stuck in recovery mode, with iOS 4.3.1, 06.15.00 BB, which I re-jailbroke, installed ultrasn0w, enjoyed unlocked iPhone, then decided to downgrade BB successfuly)

Now I want to upgrade to 5.1.1, but need unlock. Has anyone upgraded to 5.1.1 having the same scenario? Did anyone have some problems?

As far as the info I've gathered so far I have to: 1 get latest redsn0w 2 get stock ipsw 3 create noBB_ipsw with redsn0w 4 restore with iTunes 5 (stitching available 5.1.1 shsh blobs shouldn't be necessary, right?) 6 hactivate, through redsn0w jailbreak 7 unlock with ultrasn0w

Am I correct?

I'm concerned with the BB mismatch between stock 5.1.1 BB (05.16.05) and mine (05.13.04) will it cause errors in restoring?

Thanks in advance to everyone!!

Get redsn0w 0.9.15b3
Click Extras > Even more > Restore
Click IPSW and give it your stock 5.1.1 ipsw
Answer yes to preserve baseband, and no when it asks if you have the new (fixed) bootrom

After that is complete, click back to the main redsn0w window
Click Jailbreak and follow the DFU instructions
Open cydia and install ultrasn0w

The 5.13 baseband will work fine on 5.1.1, in fact there are thousands of people using it on iOS 6.0.1, so that's an option too, if you're interested in iOS 6.

Spockers' instruction clearly outlines that you first restore, then jailbreak.
